Community Health Nurses’ Role to Prevent Secondhand Smoking’s Effects in Children
Secondhand smoke is the mixture of smoke from burning tobacco products such as cigarettes, cigars, or pipes and smoke exhaled or breathed out by a smoker (American Cancer Society, 2015). The two types of secondhand smoke are mainstream and side-stream smoke; the mainstream smoke is the smoke that a smoker exhales, and the side-stream smoke comes directly from the burning of tobacco product (American Cancer Society, 2015).
