Tough struggles they go through really show certain amounts of light and darkness. Romeo experiencing extreme sadness in his soul when the girl he loves does not love him back, Romeo being enlightened when he experiences love at first sight, and Romeo and Juliet having problems with the feuding of their families are all fantastic contrasts of the light and darkness that exists between them during these times. Everything that they go through together makes their relationship stronger. They would rather die than to be alive without one another. Both Romeo and Juliet are strongly influenced by what their parents want them to do until they mature and realize that they need to make important decisions if they want to remain together. The reader tends to overlook the amount of light and darkness in Romeo and Juliet. The characters are greatly influenced by these hard and unbearable times, especially Romeo and Juliet. There are times when they are extremely joyful and then there are times where they feel depressed and empty. The play contains a rollercoaster of emotions, but life does too.
