Both the Capulet family and the Montague family are fools. They think all this fighting will achieve something? Well I hope Christ is looking upon them, for their sake. Now all this fighting has led to the death of a child from each of their families. Romeo and Juliet are dead because of this ludicrous feud, but I will pray for them none the less. I feel as though it is my fault, that I caused all of this, but they are still children of the Lord and it is my duty to look after all of them. I will pray for Romeo and I will pray for Juliet all night in front of the Lord. What if I had told someone about the marriage and the plan to fake Juliet's death? Maybe they would still be with us.…
Do you ever feel like someone is watching you when you walk past a mirror? That's because we are always watching you. I've been hanging on the wall at the Capulet house for more than 15 years. In those years, I watched our young Juliet grow up into a fine woman, several servants come and go, and so many interested parties take place in this home like the one last night. I've seen enemies enter, revenge be sworn, and a forbidden love blossom.…
Quotation #13: “O me! O me! My child, my only life,/ Revive, look up, or I will die with thee./ Help, help! Call help.” (Rom. 4. 5. 24-26)…
In William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet. The two main characters Romeo and Juliet die. The characters that are at fault for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Fate, Lady Capulet, and Friar Lawrence. Fate is a character when spelt with a capital letter. Lady Capulet is Juliet’s mom who is forcing Juliet to get married to Paris.…
In the beginning of the play Romeo is lovesick from Rosaline not loving him back. Romeo's friends and family notice Romeo’s change in behavior. Mercutio does not understand why Romeo would be so affected by a girl, he believes true love is just a dream. Benvolio, on the other hand, is more sympathetic to Romeo and can reason to see why he is so hurt. Benvolio nags Romeo to go to the Masquerade Party to cheer Romeo up.…
Have you ever thought about how “Romeo and Juliet” would have ended if communication was effectively used throughout the whole play? The outcome of the play would have been significantly different, and most, if not all, of the characters would still be alive. Every major event that happens is because of a miscommunication or no communication at all. In fact, the whole play is based on miscommunication. The feud between the two families causes major problems and forms the whole plot of the play.…
Someone else I have included into this, is Romeo and Juliet themselves. At the feast of the Capulet's, Juliet was supposed to pay attention to Paris, and Romeo was there for Rosaline. In the middle of the party though, they see each other and well, it becomes love at first sight. Then after the party, Romeo decides to eavesdrop on Juliet talk about him. Then after Juliet finishes her speech, Romeo reveals that he was listening to her.…
How does William Shakespeare present violence and conflict in Romeo and Juliet and what does the audience learn from the consequences of the characters action?…
In the early stages of Romeo and Juliet, the Montague parents send Benvolio to discern the cause of Romeo’s melancholy. They intervene in his relationship, but in this case it has no long-lasting effects. During Romeo’s relationship with Juliet, adults again intervene; sadly, though, in this case the effects are deeply felt and much more pernicious. Adult figures deter Romeo and Juliet’s relationship.…
Friar Laurence, through his lack of good judgment, is largely responsible for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. Rather than being supportive of them and helping them disclose their loving situation, Friar Laurence took the “easy” way out. He succumbed to their desire to elope. He secretly married Romeo and Juliet instead of standing behind them and encouraging them to confront their families with the facts about their commitment to and love for each other. As a result, an even stronger bond between them was created through marriage: "For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone / Till holy church incorporate two in one" (2.6.36-37). Friar Laurence married Romeo and Juliet, hoping that their union would bring an end to the constant feuding between their two families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Though the friar’s intentions were good and above reproach, they were certainly missteps along a pathway to tragedy. None of the tragedies would have occurred if Romeo and Juliet were not married…
Shakespeare portrayed many views on love in the romantic tragedy play Romeo & Juliet. Shakespeare presents this idea as a force of nature, so strong that it transcends social conventions. Many of the friendships in the play are as sincere as Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other. Close relationships were formed between Juliet and her nurse, Romeo and Mercutio and Mercutio and Benvolio.…

In the play of Romeo and Juliet, many characters show how they cannot handle the pressure that they are faced with which leads to impulse and action which is taken without thinking it through. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play, about showing love under cover. The characters are Romeo, Juliet, Friar are primarily responsible for the deaths of Romeo Juliet because they all hide their marriage from everyone which did not work. Everyone in the world can teach us something, even characters in literature. The leaders of the Montague and Capulet households in William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, teach important lessons through their hatred. Their families have been heated rivals for a long time, feuding over something no one is even sure what it is. Servants, kinsmen, and family members go to war with each other and blood is shed often. The plot of the story is set in motion when their only children fall in love secretly. Because of the strong hatred between the two sides, and their children's love, the audience learns two very important lessons: Families can divide us, and never hold a grudge.…
