1. Why is Paris at Juliet’s tomb? - Paris is sad that Juliet is dead, because he was supposed to marry her. He thought Juliet killed herself of the sorrow, knowing Tybalt had died. He was there to bring flowers to Juliet and weep.
2. What is Paris’ last request? - “thou be merciful, Open the tomb, lay me with Juliet”. (p.4, l. 4). Paris’ last request last request is to be laid next to Juliet.
3. Why does Paris think Romeo has come to the Capulet tomb? - To dishonor the Capulet corpses by damaging Tybalt’s and Juliet’s bodies. Therefor Paris tries to apprehend Romeo from doing so, which leads to a fight.
4. Who kills Paris? - Romeo kills Paris after a swords-fight. Paris was the one to start it by provoking Romeo.
5. If Romeo had not been so hasty in drinking the poison, what would he have noticed about Juliet? - Juliet’s body is still warm, and her hands start moving. He could have realized that she was still breathing and the blood in her veins was still pumping. She was beginning to wake up from the potion.
6. Name the people who have died in this scene. - Paris who dies by the hand of Romeo. Then Romeo haven drunk the poison, believing his loved one, Juliet, had died. Juliet then stabs herself with Romeo’s dagger after realizing what has happened. Later we’re told Lady Montague has died of grief of her son's exile.
7. Where does Friar Laurence want to take Juliet? - He wants to take her to a sisterhood of holy nuns, away from the people who thought she was dead and in peace. Juliet refuses seeing both Romeo and Paris has died. She then stays in the tomb.
8. How does Juliet kill herself? - When Juliet awakes and realizes, that her beloved Romeo has killed himself, mistakenly thinking that the love of his life was dead, she decides to kill herself for real this time.
