We didn’t have to drop the bomb. General Dwight Howard was informed that the atomic bomb was ready to be used . Later, he called back and said, “It is unnecessary to use the bomb because Japan was largely defeated.” Then after the war he said that it wasn’t necessary to bomb Japan because they would’ve surrendered without the bombing. Dropping the bomb was a good idea because the fighting would have continued until all Japanese were killed. It was the only solution to ending the war and preventing the Japanese from further attacks. Although many support this idea, I think we should have kept the bomb a secret and not let the public find out about it. In conclusion, many Japanese innocently died and this is why I would not have dropped the atomic bomb.
