Actor Ryan Patrick Devlin is known for his work on ABC’s “Brothers and Sisters.” He also starred in “Cougar Town” in several episodes and is seen on “Jane the Virgin.” In addition, this star is also known for his major movie roles on “Veronica Mars” and “Big Shots.”

But while he is mostly known for his television stunts, this actor does have a heart for charity.

Born in Lansing, Michigan, he took his high school education at Forest Hills Central High School. When he graduated, he attended Michigan State University and took Business as his major. After he graduated, he started his career in television banking on his involvement from his college campus’ TV stations and film clubs. But he is not done studying. According to the Palm Beach Post, he is a philanthropist.

In Liberia, he witnessed the plight of malnourished children stuck in refugee camps. He decided then and there that he should help them. He focuses his efforts on feeding the hungry children. But how?

It all started with Paul Newman. When Paul Newman died, he gave away most of his fortune to the Paul Newman Foundation. This inspired Ryan Devlin to do his part. According to Devlin, he was inspired by the work he did. Because of Newman, he thought that he should take fund raising courses at the University of California, Los Angeles for him to better understand how he could help. That course helped him learn more about philanthropy.

Using Newman’s book as his guide and his education from UCLA, Devlin created “This Bar Saves Lives.” It is a nutrition bar sold in several retail stores such as Starbucks, Whole Foods and Target. The proceeds go to the malnourished and undernourished children around the world in the form of food packets. He hopes to be like Newman and his
