1) I did list down what I had for the last 24 hours and I found I had something from each of the five major food groups which are correct per MyPlate.com. I exceeded the number of servings for vegetables because I take romaine lettuce and add a little bit of seasoning (Mrs. Dash) to it and eat it like I would eat chips. This helps me to get the crunch I like and also keep my caloric intake at a minimum.…

In the State of California, there is currently no freestanding practice act covering dietetics or medical nutrition therapy, as there is in other states. Further, there is no uniform credentialing provision or board of licensure for Registered Dieticians*, such as there are with other health-related professions in the state. This leaves a curious gap in between the legal definitions of the practice of medical dietetics and the practice of nutrition counseling. The small bit of legal language pertaining to the subject can be found in a section in the California Business & Professions Code (2585-2586) that states a Registered Dietician is “… authorized to provide nutritional and dietary counseling, conduct nutritional and dietary assessments, and develop nutritional and dietary treatments including therapeutic diets for individuals or groups.” and their clients “…must be referred by a health care provider who will provide the patient's diagnosis and the desired objective of dietary treatment (statute 2586a)”.…

I think that for a career I would either like to farm or become an agricultural engineer or something in the agricultural field for sure. I really enjoy farming and would like to make a career out of it if at all possible. In order to farm you don't really need to have any special kind of degree. My decision to major in nutritional science is not an arduous decision, rather it developed over time through my Italian heritage; the kitchen was always occupied by my family conversing about the day while my mother made brilliant from-scratch lasagna. After working at the aforementioned KFC and becoming acquainted with the regulars, it dawned on me that I had yet to eat at a fast food restaurant as many of my customers I served did on a nightly basis. The fact that these families made such poor dietary choices inspired me. A career as a Dietician would allow me to carry out this ambition to make a difference in the community and contribute to the end of the obesity epidemic America is suffering.…
