1.2.1. Functions and Mission of SKYPEC
• Functions:
The main function of SKYPEC is supplying Jet A-1 fuel for domestic and international airplanes that land and take off at Vietnam.
• Mission:
SKYPEC commits to supply aviation fuel and international standard service to airlines through fuel quality control, enhance personnel capacity, co-operation network, successfully apply technique and science in management and production, implement the management role over the government capital and complete political missions of Vietnam aviation fuel.
1.2.2. Characteristics of SKYPEC’s Business
• Input markets:
100% of fuel supplying for aircraft and ground fuel of SKYPEC is imported from Dung Quat Oil Refinery and other famous and high-quality refineries

• Competitors
SKYPEC is temporarily a monopoly enterprise in the field of aviation fuel in domestic market. Consumption market of the Company extends at all airports in the territory of Vietnam. Domestic airlines are the biggest customers which consume about 75% of JET A-1 oil of the Company.
• Growth Potentials
Nowadays, Vietnam’s economy is developing at a rapid speed, and the average income also increases. In the market mechanism, the travelling demand of people in the country for business, shopping, sightseeing and tourism will continue to go up. The increase in the number of flights and passenger transports leads to the rise in the consuming amount of JET A-1 of SKYPEC. Indeed, in the past few years, the strong development of domestic airlines has created a lot of advantages for the Company to sell more fuel.
Vietnamese State and Party have implemented open economic and international exchange policies in the view that is “Vietnam wants to be friends with all countries in the world”. Foreign investments into Vietnam keep rising in the last few years; as a result, so does international trading. 1.2.3. Features of Business Process in SKYPEC
JET A-1 oil is the fuel mostly imported from foreign countries through many stages and finally is loaded into the aircraft. Because the nature of the product requires high techniques, the quality assurance is the issue that SKYPEC always cares about. In spite of a plenty of stages in business process, the Company regularly check closely the quality of the fuel in each phase. The process of importing and consuming goods of the Company is shown in the following diagram:
