God And Goddess
The first subtopic in the Aztec life is the god and goddess and what they are known for. In the Aztec religions, there was a lot of gods and goddesses and they are; Huitzilopochtli, Quetzalcoatl, Tezcatlipoca, Camaxtli, Chalchiuhtlicue, Tlaloc, Xipe Totec, Xochiquetzal, and lastly Xochipilli.
Huitzilopochtli
The first god’s name is Huitzilopochtli, and he was known for the god that killed his sibling from his mom’s stomach with a knife.
Quetzalcoatl
The second god’s name is Quetzalcoatl, and he was only known for the bearded old man. His name was meant “Feathered Serpent”, And he have been conceived as a vegetarian god.
Tezcatlipoca
The third gods name is Tezcatlipoca, and he was the warrior god of the north and god of misery and sin with an obsidian knife.
Camaxtli
The fourth gods name was Camaxtli, and he was a really brave and strong god and …show more content…
he was also known as the god of war of hunting. He never lost a match in wars because he was very quick with his bow, he could kill anyone instantly by shooting his arrow right through without any hesitation so everyone was scared of him. Chalchiuhtlicue
The fifth gods name was Chalchiuhtlicue, and she was the goddess of the lakes and personification of youth and beauty. Because she was the only god that was beautiful and she had respect from a lot of people.
Tlaloc
The sixths gods name was Tlaloc, and he was the god that made things grow but when he gets upset he was the one that released the flooding and lightning. So no one would do anything to him.
Xipe Totec
The seventh gods name was Xipe totec, and he was the god of diseases, suffering and goldsmiths. He was the god that didn’t care about anything much because he does suffers people most of the time cutting their skin off and wearing it on while the dead bodies hands are hanging.
Xochiquetzal
The eighth gods name was Xochiquetzal, and she was the goddess with female sexual power serving people as a protector of childbirth and pregnancy, helping other females out and crafting things that they need such as embroidery.
Xochipilli
And the last gods name was Xochipilli, and he was the god of love, dance, games, maize, and flower and the meaning of his name was Xochitl (flower) pilli (Prince), Flower Prince.
Human Sacrifice
The second subtopic in the Aztec Religion was Human Sacrifice and there were a lot of deadly sacrifices that was done to humans.
And the human sacrifice was being performed by a god name Huehuetteotl. Huehuetteotl was the Aztec god of warmth, cold and lastly death. He was responsible for two things and they were food and light in the darkness. The people that were part of the Aztec religion, there were special sacrifices that held for Huehuetteotl. The first thing they did to the victim is throw them in the fire, and then pull them back out with hooks right before he was dead, so he can be tortured. While he was alive, they would take his heart and throw it in the fire while he was suffering.

Religious Festival
The third subtopic in the Aztec religion was Religious festival and there were 3 important festivals happened in the Aztec empire. The way these festivals happened was first Mexico was under Aztec ruler ship for about 100 years up until the time when the Spanish explorer Hernandez Cortez and his soldiers invaded the territory in 1521. Cortez and his man observed various festivals held in honor of the god of rain and lightning, Tlaloc.
The Aztecs celebrated their first festivals at the beginning of the agricultural year in February, in a course of either a priest or shaman carried out a number of rituals to encourage rainfall. The second rain festival was offered to a god named Tlaloc and the other rain gods in March, once the flowers had begun to slowly grow, this has signified the first new life from the earth. And lastly the third Aztec rain festival was celebrated in autumn in order to encourage rainfall. And in this festival Aztec people formed into shapes of small mountains and images of gods. Rituals
The fourth subtopic in the Aztec religion was Rituals and the important aspects of rituals. Pries would be dressed up to represent a specific divinity.
