CHAPTER 1
BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM
1.1 Introduction
As technology continues to advance, computers are becoming more part of everyday life. Computers are everywhere at work, at school, and at home .Many daily activities either involve the use of or depend on information from a computer. This maybe because computers are used in almost every field and profession like education and office works to perform large number of computer application .It also the best solution for providing information and a way of communications in every individual and gives better understanding of some events that can arouse the interest of some particular subject matter.
The information system is important in collecting all data and information of all staff or member in one organization to be in one place. The system is normally provided very helpful task as to keep it in file as the inventory or other purposes. In order to design a helpful system in order to make ease to the user, the system is developed by using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 software linking with database that is using Microsoft Access 2003 and SQL as the language or instruction of the system. The proposed system is a standalone system. This system focused on recording and updating the data.
1.2 Background of the Study
The present system of Silverlink School of Caloocan is done manually such as the student information system. From the time it was started to operate, they use the manual system. Even nowadays, that they have computers, still they use it for proration of memos and letters.
Silverlink School of Caloocan is a Non Sectarian school which is located at Brgy. Caybiga, Caloocan City. And this School was started and established in the year 2003 . At first they only offer Pre School and Elementary but now they also have Secondary and Open High School ( for Home Study Program). It was found by Mr. Felipe V. Guzman . Like some School, Silverlink School of Caloocan is using the old system,
