To begin, children now and days will not listen to giving a lecture but sometimes you just have to use words that can relate to them. It's not about how good of a driver you are, it's about the people surrounding that can lead to a fatal disaster. For example, Johnny was driving without his parents giving good advice, so one day he was driving with friends and had a crash. However, if he had the convincing parents he could of drove more safely and follow directions. On the other hand David was given a lecture and he been driving for 3 years without a …show more content…
crash. So yes giving a lecture will positively motivate and convince a teenager to drive safely.
These accidents are often preventable.
Parents can help by modeling appropriate behavior , such as by turning off or silencing cellphones prior to driving, and by discussing what safe driving looks like, says Dietrich. These actions should begin at an early age and continue once a teen is licensed. One passenger in Sydnee's car was wearing a seat belt appropriately and walked away from the crash physically uninjured, Dietrich says. The other passenger was wearing a seat belt too, but she placed the shoulder harness behind her back and suffered serious injuries .
He believes that cellphones, for example, have become so ingrained in our culture that when a phone rings, people don't even think before they respond. When someone gets in a car, it's just their natural reaction to look at their phones when they get an alert. Teens may see adults displaying this behavior and think it's OK . "It comes down to not lecturing to them, but providing the teens with the information to encourage them to make the right decisions when they are in the car," he
says.
Furthermore, my other situation will be telling a student to drive without a cellphone out. That is one of the biggest distractions there are. Could you drive without a cellphone? I know i could if it can take my innocent life away. For example, Tom was driving with a phone in his hand texting and didn't notice some other boys was speeding up the same street , tom looked up he had a crash and died. Was it worth him losing his life? No, so yes i think teenagers should be convinced to drive more safely during today's generation.
In conclusion, the main reason why i think students should be convinced is because death is one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. Teenagers are childish and like to have fun so if they are not convinced then there will be numerous accidents. I think if it's more lectures and phone taken away from teens the the accident for teen rate will be phenomenal. To end it off, giving a lecture and taking phones away as a distraction will be better convincing teens to drive more safely during this situation. Would you like your kids to be driving without a lecture or convinced to drive better? Think about it.
