Saggy pants should be banned
Some people say that as the clothes you put on represent a form of fashion statement protected by constitutional freedom of expression, nobody else can interfere with how you are dressed. But, I can’t accept such an opinion. I believe we should crack down on saggy pants in public for the following two reasons: They not only make others disgusted but corrupt public morals. Besides, they are likely to embarrass others.
First and foremost, indeed, you have a right to wear any clothing you like unless it offends others. Saggy pants are, however, offensive especially when worn to show your underwear. If such a sloppy fashion went unchecked, it would eventually disrupt public morals and give negative impacts on young children. I’m convinced you would be horrified to see your sons or daughters shamelessly showing around their underpants in public places.
Secondly, it would be extremely embarrassing to watch a stranger’s loose pants go down in a public arena. Saggy pants are by definition not fastened by a belt. So, you may catch him/her accidentally pants-down anytime and anywhere. I’m pretty sure I would become extremely embarrassed, to say nothing about bursting into laughter, if I were to witness such a hilarious scene.
For the reasons I mentioned above, I’m in favor of the idea to get hard on saggy pants. (220 words)

Saggy pants are said to disrupt public morals. Yet, what are ‘public morals’ all about in the first place? They are too vague to define clearly. I object to the idea to crack down on saggy pants for the following two reasons: How you are dressed is a part of freedom of expression protected by the constitution. In addition, you can always glance away, when you find my saggy pants offensive. First of all, our constitution guarantees that you can do anything you like unless it annoys others. Saggy pants are not intended to expose your whole underwear but to look merely loose. It’s not such a big deal as obscene stuff like public nakedness. Even

In the article "The sad truth about saggin' pants" by Judge Greg Mathis has open my eyes to some of societys flaws today. I never noticed how something as small as wearing the pants a certain way can have so much history along with it. When I seen the fashion of "saggin' pants" come into style I wasn't sure if should follow along with it because I wasnt sure where the style itself has come from along with others. Judge Mathis is right when he states his claim that todays socitey has no idea as to where the style has orginated from because if they did many of todays urban and suburban sociteys wouldn't dress the way they do. I feel as though nowadays with society becoming harsher people feel as though they need to dress the way do to fit in with a crew or gang because apperance these days means more than it should.…

The definition of sagging pants is pants that are worn below the waist. This style has become popular to this generation. Sagging pants became a style to this generation by rappers. Some of this generation thinks it is cool to wear sagging pants. I beg to differ; I think it shows how immature and a lack of carrying yourself in a proper and appropriate way. What they don’t know is that sagging pants originally came from prison and in prison it showed to other males that you are available to the same sex. It really bothers me when I see some guys and even some girls copy this style. I think there should be a law that bans sagging pants. It is so inappropriate for anybody to walk around the streets with their…

Another item of clothing that people wear that has a derogitory meaning or look is sagging pants. The fashion term is sagging, when the pants are worn too big and past the waist. It is mostly associated with males in American hiphop culture and thought to come from the prison system. "...the practice of sagging is sometimes viewed in the U.S. as indicative of the potential for unlawful behavior." ("What is Sagging?") Some cities in the U.S. have passed laws about sagging pants. Someone wearing saggy pants in those cities can be fined for indecent exposure.…

In today's society, the least that school’s should be worried about are shoulders showing. This specific rule of attire is unnecessary to incorporate into our schools handbook for school is a place of learning, not judging and yelling at students for their shoulders showing. This topic could also be linked to sexualising girls and what they wear. In today’s society, girls are expected to show zero-no skin in order for it to be “appropriate”, but there’s a lot wrong with that statement. Girls, especially adolescent ones, shouldn’t be taught that wearing a tank top and showing off your shoulder is wrong and unacceptable. The specific quote, “The reason why these stupid dress codes are created is because the school systems believe that when a girl(and only girls) wear tank tops, their shoulders distract other classmates from their class work. This is a result of the unnecessary sexualization of showing a little skin, even though the temperatures may be boiling…

Many states have banned saggy pants inside of schools and most are against this style in public. Florida and Arkansas have passed laws restricting saggy pants from schools. Some people disagree and believe that it is “distracting” for students to sag their pants in school. Other communities have agreed but went further and passed on a “blanket ban” on wearing saggy pants anywhere. Other states have tried doing this (Louisiana and Virginia) but they failed to pass the statewide bans.…

In any gym class during the day, there will probably be a ton of boys wearing cut off shirts that are very revealing of the guys’ chests, but no one ever says a word about it, But no one would ever would be okay with a girl wearing a shirt that is revealing. I know in today's society it is wrong for a girl to show her chest, and I’m not saying that it is, but it shouldn’t be okay for boys in schools to show parts of their body that girls cannot. If guys can show off their whole chest, then maybe girls should be able to too. It it is unfair that girls always get pulled out of the classroom because their clothes are “distracting,” It is very unfair to make a girl leave the classroom to change her shirt, or shorts. Guys shouldn’t get a better education just because girls wear different…

Sagging pants worn below the waist line, intentionally revealing undergarments is considered by some to be highly inappropriate, to such a degree that action must be taken. Pastor Diane Robinson of Jacksonville, Florida was the first of many to take it upon herself to correct what she saw as “personally offensive” (Goodwyn). The Pull up your Pants campaign, started by Robinson in…

I strongly disagree with the fact of the shorts dress code rule being 6 inches or mid-thigh because if your shorts are 6 inches and not mid-thigh you can be dress coded; also if you shorts are mid-thigh and not 6 inches you can again be dress coded. I believe it is unfair because it gets to the point of you not knowing if the shorts are in dress code that you have to wear jeans all year even when its 100 degrees out side. It is also very inconsistent with people getting dress coded and people getting warnings and not being sent in to be dress coded. I personally agree that students should not be wearing booty shorts to school because it is very inappropriate and not expectable, but I do not agree with the fact that some people get dress coded due to the fact that their teacher or a staff member is in a bad mood on day and the next time they wear the same shorts they don’t! In a way the issue can not be fixed but it can be discussed and more consistent. The fact that it can be one 6 inches or the other mid-thigh is logically not fair due to the fact that you do not know what one it has to be. Also you can only be dress coded a certain amount of times until there is extreme consequences. So you do not want to risk the fact of wearing shorts that you don’t know will be in dress code or will not be, and you just wear jeans even though it is extremely hot out side and you risk having a heat stroke. Therefore those are some reasons why the dress code rule for shorts which is 6 inches or mid-thigh is unfair and should be discussed. Even if the rule can not be entirely fixed whether you get dress coded or not, the fact of having the term “6 inches or mid-thigh” should be fixed so girls will know what they can go out and look for to wear to school because its not fair to go out and buy new shorts for school, then you figure out that they are out of dress code because they are not either 6…

Yet again, these boundaries on what to wear are technically violating the first amendment because it is limiting freedom of speech very predominately. The matter is a very slippery slope, what to allow and what not to allow. Additionally, the rules are easily interpreted as sexist, shaming girls for wearing what needs to be worn. _____. A lot of the time, school workers blame a female student’s clothing as the reason why boys are being distracted from their learning. They are taking a student out of learning so that a male student can focus better. “Your self-control is not my problem,” some would say.…

Although there is a point where a piece of clothing just isn’t appropriate to wear out, the fact that thin strapped tank tops and shorter shorts are banned is just as ridiculous as the fact that women in other countries aren’t allowed to drive cars. No only is it unpleasant and impertinent, no one wants to see the color of your boxers or worse your butt crack. Wearing your pants below your waist hold other meanings and is measured to be a signal for gay men. Originally sagging came from prison where the criminals were not issued out belts. Prison issued clothing tends to rather baggy, especially the pants that tend to fall off. Majority of men who sag will tell you they are following “the trend” or that it’s “cool”. However in prison this fashion was used for inmates looking for gay sex. Therefore Government and school officials should police what teens choose to wear.…

When a girl gets told that her outfit is unsuitable to wear to school, her self esteem is dismantled from her. (Kate) In recent years, multiple girls have been punished because of the way they dress while attending school. Dress codes have taken a toll on how girls think about themselves as a person and the way they dress because of the fact that they might have to change due their outfit being “inappropriate.” Public schools should enforce dress codes but they should not be so strict so they do not embarrass children, body shame students, or push sexism toward one gender or another.…

When going out to the mall it is common for people to notice another person of the opposite sex passing by that they think is cute. Today though we need to be much more careful when doing this since you never know if some of these people are eighteen, sixteen, or even twelve. With what some of the teens are wearing out in public it is sickening I must say. I realize you can't blame the parents for this totally since, some of the teens leave the house in one outfit but, change once the parents are out of sight. In today's society advertisements with models in less clothing on television gives these teens and younger children the idea that it is alright to dress in this manner.…
