1. Thesis: The Chesapeake and New England communities both originated from English backgrounds. Their communities had different beliefs and settled in the new world for other reasons. Their differences consisted of social, economic, and political beliefs.
2. Topic Sentence: The Chesapeake colonies set off to the new world in search for gold and riches while the New England colonies set off to find a place were they can freely practice their religious beliefs. The New England colonies had different religious thoughts and when they created laws and rules they based them off of their religious beliefs.

3. Topic Sentence: The Chesapeake colonies had many economic issues because they had more important goals to search for all the riches in the new world. All went in search of gold and when the winter came around there were no crops planted so they starved which was called “The Starving Time”.
