Persuasion: Homosexual marriage should be legalizing constitutional by all states, therefore homosexual couples can celebrate their communion, share benefits, rights and have a family. Most people believe that they deserve the rights that are granted by the government. However, not all citizens are afforded equal rights. Homosexuals are consistently denied the rights that are typically taken for granted by the average American. They are held at an unfair disadvantage solely because of their sexual orientation. This discrimination must stop because homosexuals are law abiding citizens as too, who should be afforded the same right as heterosexual couples. Homosexual marriage should be legalizing constitutional by all states, therefore homosexual couples can celebrate their communion, share benefits, rights and have a family.
Homosexual marriage legalization is a fight for legal recognition, not religious recognition. The battle to legalize same sex civil unions is not trying to infringe upon the beliefs of the churches. These unions are to be recognized by the federal and state government. It is necessary that the government recognize the civil unions of same sex couples because all citizens of the United States should be afforded equal rights regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation. It is because of this legal discrimination those homosexuals are not respected, therefore alienated as unaccepted by the rest of the population. All aspects of discrimination are wrong and it needs to be punished by law.
Currently homosexual couples share benefits and rights given by the Federal Court through DOMA; but the state needs to rule in favor as well. Only a few states currently recognized homosexual couples unions as legal and give them the benefits and rights. Same sex couples qualified for federal benefits such as; Social Security, Tax, Veteran and Military, Federal Employment and Immigration. This is just the first of many
