Sarah Knight's 'Not Sorry Method'
Being able to mentally declutter your mindset in order to become more happy is the way to fully live your life. Sarah Knight discussed how when one is unhappy in a situation that there is another way instead of stressing yourself out and to literally not waste a f*ck on something that emotionally or physically drains you. Knight believes that anyone can declutter their mindset even if it is the little things, not meaning they have to get up and move their whole life, but can make adjustments in their life, stop stressing over the little things, and learn to say no in order to get closer to happiness by using the “Not Sorry Method”. I chose this TEDx talk, because I am one who can get stressed about many things and also start to overthink. Sometimes I need to take a step back and realize I do not have …show more content…
I would rate the verbal and nonverbal delivery a 10. I would give her a 10, because she had an appropriate pace throughout her whole presentation, paused at appropriate timings, had no fillers, and had eye contact not only with the camera but the whole audience. The evidence that she used I would rate a 6. I would rate a 6 because the only thing that I would consider evidence would be her using her personal story and how the tips that she has made helped her in that situation, however her story was so comparable to others lifestyles that, that could be used as evidence in my opinion. The credibility of the speaker I would give a 10, because Knight is an author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and Get Your Sh*t Together. I would also rate the overall organization of the speech an 9. I gave Knight a 9 on organization because in the beginning it was really well thought out on how to explain something. Meaning that in the beginning she said that there is a strong willpower of not giving f*ck, but first went into detail about

During the Civil War, the advances of the Industrial Revolution introduced great changes in the industrial and technological development. Both the North and the South created many advances in railroad and water transportation. The Union, however, was far more advanced technologically than the Confederate states . Consequently, the North made greater and more effective use of progress in weapons, communication, transportation and medicine than South . Although the industrial development made the nation very widely known, both the south and the north were divided because their differences.…

In the Ted Talk “Less stuff, more happiness” by Graham Hill he shares stories about how he downsized his life and how happy he is because of it. Graham starts of the talk with a really good ethos by revealing the fact that American homes today have three times more space than they did 50 years ago, explaining how our space has been expanding over time and how our belongings have accumulated with it. In attempt to capture the attention of the audience and show credibility. Correspondingly Graham does a good job using pathos to persuade the audience by appealing to the emotions of the audience by challenging his spectators to edit their life’s by reducing consumption and belonging in order to be happy and free to save more money and decrease…

The content of her talk was overall good in my opinion. She used videos and her own personal examples to help express what she was saying. The videos she used were of Koko the gorilla, two men, and two mothers. She used these videos to help the audience understand what she means when she says “spotting a liar”. She put up two different videos of two different moms and made the audience try and pick out which one of the two was lying. This was a great idea to not only keep the audience involved but it also helped me personally understand what she was saying. When Pamela used her own personal examples they were either funny or relatable. When she talked about people not wanting to meet her for coffee that was an example of a funny one. When she talked about how much we get lied to it was crazy but, relatable. Overall the content of her talk was…

People seem to struggle most with finding and maintaining happiness in their lives, mostly because they do not understand what happiness is. They assume happiness is a concrete destination. Little do they realize that you can find happiness in what you already have, no matter the situation. Some think that the only way to be happy is to remove all things negative out of their life, but one should not let their happiness be controlled by something they themselves cannot control. When things do not go exactly as expected, that does not mean everything has gone wrong, or that the world has turned against you. Problems will always be present in life, so it is better to accept their presence, allowing you to accept your life as is, which…

In the presentation I liked the organization. He related to the students well, and gave very informative perspectives. I think that the videos were helpful, because they gave us an actual visual of what a shooting could look like and how to prepare for this kind of thing. I did not enjoy the overall subject as much, because it is something that is very serious that most people would rather look over. The other thing I disliked were the people who didn’t take the presentation serious. It might not have been the best way to spend your afternoon, but this is a subject that needs to be addressed within our school. In the long run, I know that it is information that will help us, or someone we love. Overall, I liked the presentation and how…
