I have been working on an essay for my composition class. Naturally, I had to write about marijuana! Marijuana is a very honest and controversial issue in society today. Many have been slanderous claims have been made about cannabis in recent history, the truths are slowly starting to come forward. There is so much criticism due to the stereotypical view of what people view as "pot smoker". America thinks that "pot smokers" is the lazy and unmotivated kids of our generation who don't do anything. It is misinformation spread by private interest who needed cannabis illegal for their own personal gains. I strongly believe that marijuana should be legalized for all users.

not a recent discovery. Medical marijuana needs to be recommended for its use of variety of disorders. These disorders include pain relief, nausea, glaucoma, and movement disorders. It is also used as a powerful appetite stimulant which helps patients with cancer who are going through chemotherapy.
Could you imagine the thousands of patients that would be able to eat with the help of marijuana? All across the country we have acknowledged cannabis' effective with the healing properties and legalized its consumption for medicinal purposes with the consent of a licensed physician. With the patients are at the mercy of the federal government and it's authority.
The Hemp plant is grown for industrial use only; in fact, hemp contains less than 1% of THC and causes no "high" when smoked. The most important attribute of hemp is its ability to produce a substantial amount of cellulose. See what is cellulose is a compound that, in more recent years has been converted into a biofuel called cellulosic ethanol. Hemp holds an advantage though, because it can be produced more frequently than cotton, it can yield nearly four times the amount of cellulose you can get from a corn stalk. It is a recent focus on marijuana legalization, many people are looking back to why cannabis was criminalized in the first place. Some may to popular belief, the reason marijuana was made illegal had nothing to do with health issues.
The real reason is its simple, good old fashioned, American business. But no one wants to see it like that.
Marijuana is not as addictive as most media outlets see you to believe. The most addictive drugs, even above meth, is nicotine. After nicotine and meth come pills, and then alcohol. With everything goes to the bottom of the chart, you have caffeine, and at the VERY bottom you have marijuana. Less addictive than your can of Pepsi. If cannabis were legalized, and then regulated and taxed like other commercial goods, this could bring in huge dollar amounts to the federal governments. I feel like if people of the US gave marijuana a try and even see what it does to cancer patients and people with anxiety.
I don't understand why cannabis is still illegal in this country. To this day, I have not heard an intelligent argument against the legalization and regulation of cannabis. There is so much negative controversy that we get from supports. The fact is, many people would outlaw fast food, cigarettes, and tanning beds because of the harm that they cause America. But this is America and there is about their freedom and this is about their choice. Give the people in our states the choice to enjoy
marijuana.
