from his kingship; His unfaithfulness made him lost God’s Spirit and forfeit His anointing and give it to someone else who would follow Him wholeheartedly. What lessons do Christians can learn from King Saul’s life that can prosper their relationship with God?
First, the story of Saul teaches Christians to fully obey the Lord and seek to do His will. And whatever hardships they may face in life, God expects them to remain faithful to Him and not to rebel against His commandments. However, many Christians chose their own way and seek their own will. Their act emphasizes the fact that they cannot be trusted to be an instrument of God. Second, Christians should not selfishly use and abuse the power God given to them. However, many Christians love the glory and honor people are giving them that they fail to give God the glory and honoring due to Him. Third, leaders should carefully depend on God to lead people where God desires them to be and to do in order that they could become the people God desired them to be for His glory and honor. Therefore, Christians are to surrender to God’s holy will, walk with Him patiently, and be confident in His word and promises, even if things may look so hopeless. Just remember, He is faithful and true; whatever He says will surely come to pass. Wait patiently and continue to do what pleases God and in His time, He will give the desires of their heart, according to His riches and glory. As the Bible says, Trust in the LORD with all your heart. And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs
3:5-6)
