Why I think people love the thrill and excitement of being scared is because in this day in age people want to have that rush; and because of this, scary things are booming. According to the website AmericaHaunts.com, seasonal haunted houses in major cities average around 8,000 paying customers, and most haunted houses charge between $15 - $25 a ticket. Amusement parks like Six Flags and SeaWorld charge as much as $65. Halloween is the second largest commercial holiday in the United States. People nowadays love to be scared. One time I went to the movies and I saw people in line this for one scary movie, and I thought “Wow, when did scary movies get so popular?”. But how do they combat being afraid?I Do they close their eyes and wait for it to be over, or do they face fear head on? People combat fear in many ways; for example, telling themselves it's not real, or maybe ignoring what makes them afraid. I personally like to face fear head on, whether it's in a haunted house or in real life.I think it's better to face your fears head on because if you don’t you will keep being haunted by that fear until you face that fear.
