CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study The rapid evolution of computer hardware and software technology had enabled the developmental of complex systems that are intimately involved in the processed of the industrial world. These systems, not only to control the activity jets, but also on the management of telecommunications or the telecommunication itself, transaction processes, or in organization of the routing traffic. They are also embedded in the automobiles, cameras, and other items that we encounter and use every day. This explains the vital role of computer in the technological advancement. The subject of software engineering – which to ensure the construction of efficient system covers all the techniques, approaches, and tools that can be used to ensure the construction of efficient and reliable software systems – is faced with challenges of keeping pace with these developments and the necessity of adjusting to the new conditions, and opportunities as they appear. A very essential product of computer’s contribution in technological advancement is the so-called ‘automation’. It has expedited the speed of business and reduced the need for manual intervention. The value of automation has come in full wide because of what it has to offer. Automation essentially reduced repetitive tasks, and provides opportunity for information to be available in real-time window and in within few minutes. Effective and efficient software or systems greatly increase the speed of production by completing the tasks with no manual intervention. According to Radoban (2008), as cited by Eustaquio (2013), unpublished project study, “with the advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) today, it is merely impossible to run an effective business without the help of technology.
