Schizophrenia And Autism Research Paper

Schizophrenia and autism have similar traits and behaviors associated with the disorders. Knowing this, does having ASD increase an individual’s chances of developing schizophrenia? This is a very interesting topic. Many studies show an association of autistic traits and schizotypal traits. A study by Rapport et al. says, “Childhood-Onset Schizophrenia is preceded by and comorbid with a pervasive developmental disorder in 30% of 50% of cases” (Rapport et al.).
