I strive to maintain my integrity and professional identity during my daily interactions with students, families, staff and other professionals. I feel that maintaining a professional identity as well as integrity is especially essential during meetings and assement, which affect the course of a student’s educational career. I enjoy working with others, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than myself. An important part of being on a team is accountability. I have learned from experience that everyone’s contributions help to bring about positive change. That is why I strive to be accountable for my work and I put and effort into anything I do.
Whenever I approach a situation, an evaluation, or any other task required of me, I always keep the clients and other stakeholders at the front of my mind. I feel that my concern for others is a natural trait that I possess. In fact it is my personal and professional experiences that have made advocacy for others, the focal point of my career aspirations as a School Psychologist. I strive to advocate for those whose voices may be otherwise lost.
Finally, as a professional I am always learning and growing more with each experience. I strive to acquire new knowledge that may increase my skillset. Lifelong learning is a big part of being a professional especially in the ever-changing field of school psychology.
