Community Environmental Issue
The issue is that there is a big cancer risk in San Bernardino County. The toxic air pollutants or air toxics are those pollutants known or suspected of causing cancer or other serious health problems. The pollutant formaldehyde is 53.24 and the Ben Zane is 14.20, and the Acetaldehyde is at 6.53.
This is an environmental sustainability issue because; the infant mortality rate in the U. S cities was 7.4 deaths per 1,000 live births. Between 1990-2004 the infant mortality rate incites has declined by nearly one-third while the nationwide decline during the same period was 25.3 percent.
It affects the people who live in the community. The mortality rate has gone up, and the cancer rate in San Bernardino County has also gone up. And it has also affected the birth weight of children. In 2004 low birth weight in San Bernardino County was 66.46.
