Scrooge emphasizes, "What a fine day fellow... An Intelligent boy, a remarkable boy." This is a critical part of this novel because this shows Scrooge overcame his dislike of Christmas and his entire disliking of people. Instead of rudely gesturing to people, he is now starting to act nicer, and more mature. Scrooge exclaims, " Come back to the butcher and I'll give you a shilling. Come back in two minutes and ill give you a crown!" this show Scrooge truly overcomes the was he acts. Scrooge was all about the money- never wanted to share. Ever since the ghost's from Christmas past, present, and Christmas yet to come, Scrooge was offering his wealth off to other people who need the…

Ebenezer Scrooge a tightwad from Victorian London who hates Christmas. Generally, people that live in a giant mansion alone tend to get a little grumpy. The giant mansion he lives in is very lonely considering he is all by himself. He keeps it dark and cold because he does not like to waste the money. This would drive me to be a grumpy, mean old man. Finally, there are a surprising ghost that are lurking around his house. The ghost of his old friend, Marley, for example. He is seen walking around the house…

In his novel, A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens portrays Scrooge as the children of ignorance and want; these children are under the cloak of the Ghost of Christmas Present. "They were a boy and a girl. Yellow, meager, ragged, scowling, wolfish; but prostate, too, in their humility… 'This boy is ignorance. This girl is want'" (49). Scrooge only wants money from his life; it is all he cares about. He is ignorant towards any unnecessary spending of the money. Lastly' he ignores his families attempt to socialize with him to make him more affable.…

Within A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens incorporates numerous themes by using the character Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge is a unsympathetic pennypincher that does not give any thought to helping others. He is a complicated fellow who cares about money and business more than anything else. The author Ebenezer Scrooge as a way to convince readers that money should not always be the first priority. Making Scrooge realize that family is more important helps prove the theme: money should not be the only focus in life in the story.…

This is evidenced as Marley died on Christmas day Scrooge was the only mourner however Scrooge did not seem affected by the death as instead of paying his respect Scrooge used it as an opportunity to make business "even Scrooge was not so dreadfully cut up by the sad event, but that he was an excellent man of business on the very day of the funeral, and solemnized it with an undoubted bargain." Scrooge's tight-fisted nature is demonstrated for the first time in this quote. Scrooge's choice of bargaining at a funeral where it's supposed to be meaningful and evocative; justifies Scrooges apathetic attitude towards the death of his "sole friend" . This foreshadows Scrooge's death as when the ghost of Christmas yet to come displays the vision of Scrooge's death there was only a atmosphere of happiness and a apathetic attitude just like Scrooge at Marley's funeral. At the beginning of the vision Scrooge is acquainted by businessmen as they were discussing about his death, as stated before they gave an uninterested reaction. One of the Business men asked "What has he done with his money?", the fact that they are more concerned about the money rather than Scrooge's death shows their callous attitude again referring back to Scrooge's behavior towards Marley's…

The eight adjectives that I found best describes Scrooge at the beginning of the novel would be greedy and unfriendly, even though he donates, I still feel that he is somewhat greedy at the beginning of it. Following would be grumpy, miserable and cold hearted. As the novel progresses, he definitely begins to be more thoughtful and friendly. By the end I feel he is a happy old man and glad those ghosts came to him.…

At the very start in the beginning of the Christmas carol book Ebenezer scrooge is a very mean and nasty man. He kept all of his money to himself and he loved it so much he did not share a penny of it to the poor or the sick. I have got a paragraph here from the book Christmas Carol explaining what scrooge was like. ‘Oh! But he was a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone, Scrooge! A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner! Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out generous fire; secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster. The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, shrivelled his cheek, stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his thin lips blue; and spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice. A frosty rime was on his head, and on his eyebrows, and on his wiry chin. He carried his own low temperature always about with him; he iced his office in the dog-days, and didn’t thaw it one degree at Christmas.’ This paragraph shows that Scrooge was not a nice looking man. He was very mean to his workers and not many people liked him. Nobody ever spoke to him in the street and said good morning or how are you. Even the blind men’s dogs appeared to know him; and, when they saw him coming on, they would tug their owners into doorways and up courts; and then they would wag their tails. So no one in the town liked Ebenezer scrooge at all. Then one night on Christmas Eve before Christmas, 7 years after Jacob Marley had died, this was the night that would hopefully change Ebenezer Scrooge’s life forever if he listened. So when Scrooge was walking back from work to his house he opened his front gate and got his door keys out. The door knocker on the top was a gold brass lion and very big. When scrooge put his keys in the key hole he looked at the knocker and the lion wasn’t there anymore no instead it was Ebenezer Scrooge’s former partner Jacob Marley. Scrooge jumped back and was very afraid but…
