The eight adjectives that I found best describes Scrooge at the beginning of the novel would be greedy and unfriendly, even though he donates, I still feel that he is somewhat greedy at the beginning of it. Following would be grumpy, miserable and cold hearted. As the novel progresses, he definitely begins to be more thoughtful and friendly. By the end I feel he is a happy old man and glad those ghosts came to him.

Marely was an old business partner of Ebenezer Scrooge, but had died and become a ghost that visited him to try and make him realize that he is a grumpy, self-centered old man that needs to start caring for others and even a bit more for himself.
4. How are Marley and Scrooge similar?
At the beginning of the novel, they were both very similar in the fact that they were both grasping, mean and very inconsiderate. As the novel progressed further, you see Scrooge reform as a kind, generous, fun-loving man. And that was the help of Marely, because he visited him and warned him about the ghosts, otherwise, its questionable whether Scrooge would’ve changed.

The reason the bell rung was because it was announcing Marelys arrival. This got Scrooge a little scared because no one as in the house, so who could possibly be ringing the bell? With marelys arrival, there wasn’t just one bell ringing either, there were numerous which made Scrooge feel a little surrounded. 6.
