“No Gun Control, Ever” I do not agree that the U.S. should have gun control laws. The Second Amendment that is in our national Constitution titles that, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” This right has been amended in our Constitution since 1791, and still there have been forms of gun control ever since. The National Rifle Association (NRA) is a supporter of the Second Amendment and also an adversary of those who propose limitations on guns. Over the years there have been many U.S. presidents that were members of the NRA, for example, Raegan, Bush, Nixon, also Eisenhower and Kennedy. One question you may ask is, why do citizens have a necessity to own a handgun? One reason is tradition. For as long as this country has been established, gun owners have been around, for self-defense and to hunt for wild game that will later be food. Buying, possessing, or carrying a gun doesn’t hurt anyone. Up until a person compels a crime, he/she is free to choose what he/she wants to do. After the appalling school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Newtown, CT; a sequence of panic engrossed the nation. Stores had taken down guns from their shelves. Cities controlled gun buyback events. Lawmakers pledged to stricken gun laws. The sale of bulletproof backpacks for children and teens spiked. There were also occurrences of children bringing guns to school for protection. The whole time, once again the national debate turned again to gun control: Should citizens in the U.S. even be allowed to acquire and own guns? And what could there be done to prevent mass shooting from happening again in the future? The Democratic Party retorted with demand for even more gun control laws. On January 16, 2014 President Obama engaged three different memorandums and pledged 23 executive actions to help “reduce crimes affiliated with guns”.
