Most of the major parts did not change at all. T-Ray’s abuse on Lily by making her kneel on grits was the same. Also, the part where Rosaleen gets arrested for pouring tobacco juice on the three men doesn’t change. The most important part, about the connection between black Mary and Deborah, did not change one bit. The three sisters roles and meaningfulness of the roles did not change at all. Also, May dying stayed true to what the book presented it as. Zach getting arrested didn’t change, but the way in which it happened changed a bit. It was really cool to see how similar each significant part was in the story. Although every part wasn't exactly the same it didn’t change the overall view and what actually happened in the book. The plot of the story in the movie was spot on with the book and it helped that the characters stayed the same
