Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)
Born: 12th of Rabi- ul- Awwal (53BH) in Makkah.
Parents: Father- Abdullah- passed away before he was born.
Mother- Sayyidah Aaminah-lived with her for a while.
The Prophet later lived with Sayyidah Halimah (RA) his nurse in the countryside. When he was about six years he returned to his mother.
On arrival his mother took him to Madinah to meet her uncles and see his father Abdullah’s grave. On the way back from Madinah she passed away at Al- Abwa. At 6 years the prophet was orphaned. The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) then goes to live with his grandfather Abdul Muttalib who passed away when the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was 8 years old.
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) goes to live with his uncle Abu Talib
Living with his uncle the prophet was kind, helpful, and well- behaved and began to work to earn a living. At 12 years his uncle took him on a trading trip to Syria were they met a Christian priest Bahira who told Abu Talib to take good care of the Prophet.
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) wisdom
When heavy rains destroyed the Ka’bah the tribe leaders began to fight when it came to placing the black stone. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) solved the problem by asking all the leaders to hold the edges of the cloth in which the stone was placed and then he himself placed the stone in the wall of the Kab’ah. By doing this the prophet practised justice and fairness.
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) adulthood, marriage and Prophet hood
The Prophet (S.A.W) married a rich widow- Sayyidah Khadijah (R.A) - who was 40 years, the prophet being 25 at that time. One night during the month of Ramadaan the angel Jibraeel (A.S) came to see the Prophet now 40 years old and asked him to read the first 5 verses of Surah Al- Alaq. When the Prophet was alone he tried to understand what had happened to him and went home to Sayyidah Khadijah (R.A).
