Created Equal: I strongly believe in equality. Whether it be between genders, races, sexuality, or religion, I believe we should be treated equally. I believe that you should not be deprived of your rights over your genders, races, sexuality, or religion.
Natural Rights: As a naturally born United States citizen, do not really greatly appreciate or notice these rights. I could not even conceive the idea of not having these rights. People who immigrate to America from other countries, appreciate these rights more deeply than most
naturally born American citizens.
The State of Nature: I don’t think I fully understand or grasp this principle. To me the state of nature means nature is untouched by humans. I’m not sure if the writers of The Declaration of Independence are trying to state that some of nature should be untouched by man or I am missing the concept of it. To me it doesn’t seem real.
The Consent of the Governed: I feel like some decisions the government makes does need the consent of the people. If the government itself chooses the and votes for the president and doesn’t have an election for the citizens, to me is not fair. Sadly this is how some governments run around the world.
The Right of the People: This principle to me makes sense. I feel that if the government is becoming too strict and not letting the people pursue their rights to happiness the government should be abolished. If we did not have this principle and an event were to happen and the government tries to control the citizens too much, we would be stuck with this flawed government.
