This is considered to be the most severe form of senioritis ever discovered, and is known to have horrible side effects such as severe ABAS, laziness, and in some cases it has been known to cause the afflicted to drop out of highschool. Seniors affected with this type of senioritis are known to say things similar to “I’ve had senioritis since the day I was born,” and “C’s get degrees.” These seniors complain about their case of senioritis more often than anybody could ever care to hear, and in some of the most extreme cases they will even talk about their illness even when it appears nobody is listening. One of the defining characteristics of chronic senioritis is its longevity. Seniors affected by this type of senioritis are typically infected by their sophomore year, but can be infected as early as the beginning of their freshman year. This type of senioritis is notorious for its severity, but luckily it is typically gone within two months. Although two months may sound like a substantial length of time to be inhibited by an illness, an average case of senioritis lasts about nine months, and knowing this lasts a mere two months is certainly a substantially lesser amount of time to be ill. Despite this type of senioritis being exceptionally brief, it makes up for its short lifespan by being possibly the most severe in symptoms. Acute Onset Senioritis, AOS, is known to attack hardworking students with high GPA’s and large amounts of extracurricular activities. The symptoms of AOS include severe procrastination, sluggishness, sudden desire to socialize, a heightened sense of outgoingness, and intense wanderlust. While these symptoms don’t sound severe, students who are afflicted by AOS often have numerous responsibilities and they are not used to balancing an intense desire for social interaction with their academic responsibilities. This can cause a serious shock to the system when these seniors suddenly feel obliged to seek social interaction purely for the sake of enjoyment as opposed to a stronger college application.
