September 30 1900 Diary Report
Dear Diary Journal, September 30, 1900 A couple of days ago, my mom bought me this journal for my 9th birthday. She had told me that this journal she had bought was pretty cheap, but I did not believe her. Most school utensils like pencils were way too expensive. But it’s not like I have time to be going to school or anything of that sort. I need to make money by working at the factory not wasting money by going to school. That was just something my mom and dad told me when I would see the other kids going to school. That really didn't bother me. I have fun working with my mom at the textile mill. I get to climb the big running machines and I'm the only boy there with enough experience to be able to get from one side to the other without disturbing others. I obviously knew if Mr. Richard came by and saw me doing what I do, he might pay me more, well that would be good but highly unlikely. My mom has been working there for 6 or 7 years, it's hard to keep track, but she is still …show more content…
I was surprised to see my parents up too. Something was going on because they were real heavy sleepers. My mom has lost some hearing due to the fact that the textile machines and my father has been like that since birth. We were accompanied by more people. How many people were there at the time I could not tell? The room was dark. The only thing visible was a profile of my dad’s face. Then out of nowhere a flash of light appeared. It was for a split second but I could tell that there were around 10 people in there with us. My parents gave me no explanation of what had just happened, instead the people left. I heard the steps of people walking to the door to open it and when they all were out one of them shut it. My parents didn't really explain what happened to me instead they went back to bed. It was Sunday so they just wanted to relax on their only day

I could always hear them. I don’t know if they thought I was asleep, that I was too young to understand the altercation, or if they neglected my presence altogether. Either way, every night I could hear them. I’d pretend to be asleep whenever my mother would come in to check on me, but I’d lie awake listening until eventually I heard a door slam and a car back out of the driveway and into the gloomy night. It was usually my mother who was lucky enough to get out of the house. Unlucky for me, I was left alone in the house. With him.…

The last thing I remember is falling asleep during a late night rerun of the Twilight Zone. So when it happened, it was especially eerie, like I had stepped into a lost episode, but Rod Serling was nowhere in sight; for moment, neither was anybody else. At 4:31 AM a merciless shove pushed me off my bed. I crawled on the floor, trying to escape the cruel, uncontrollable shaking, but it followed me. It followed me down the stairs and underneath the dining room table where my family joined me. Little did I realize that before the morning sun rose again, I would see everything differently.…
