Introduction
As part of the responsibility of care the nurses and health practitioners have when in the course of their jobs, commitment to patient-centered care should be paramount. I believe that every facility, more so this one, should be actively involved in quality improvement initiatives that will be looking at ways to measure and improve patient outcomes. Quality improvement initiatives work for not only the improvement of the patients but also the nurses. A health care system resulting from quality improvement is one that supports all the parties involved, offering a healthy working environment for the nurses and better care outcomes for the patients. Ultimately the implementation of the program will see to it that patient outcomes become better than they are currently. This program is aimed at ensuring that the nurses and caregivers provide healthcare services as a primary motivation for providing care. Servant leadership is a philosophy that is included in many healthcare facilities and nurse leaders who then lead the nursing staff in a manner that empowers them in their working environment (Phang, 2014). The nurse leaders who practice servant leadership put the needs of their organization first, this then translates to the staff who will then serve their patients and their employers too. When the nurse leaders practice servant leadership, they will in effect demonstrate how the nurses ought to treat the patients they serve. Each such session will need a larger area for the course – enough space to host one hundred nurses with ease. This plan will require audio-video equipment including a projector, speakers, and a public address system. The same trainers can be retained for the training program, plus additional staff to assist the trainers and run the session with such a larger audience. The other employees will comprise of three support trainer and superusers, who will get their hourly pay and possible overtime pay; charges $300-500 each, totaling $1550.
