As part of the responsibility of care the nurses and health practitioners have when in the course of their jobs, commitment to patient-centered care should be paramount. I believe that every facility, more so this one, should be actively involved in quality improvement initiatives that will be looking at ways to measure and improve patient outcomes. Quality improvement initiatives work for not only the improvement of the patients but also the nurses. A health care system resulting from quality improvement is one that supports all the parties involved, offering a healthy working environment for the nurses and better care outcomes for the patients. This program is aimed at ensuring that the nurses and caregivers provide healthcare services as a primary motivation for providing care. Servant leadership is a philosophy that is included in many healthcare facilities and nurse leaders who then lead the nursing staff in a manner that empowers them in their working environment (Phang, 2014).
