Having read the articles about Seven Easy Principles to Becoming a Master Designer, it teaches us how to make our designs look great. The use of fonts is important for our audience to be interested in visual appeal. Using two fonts per design accomplishes a consistent work flow. The main font is to represent character and personality; while the secondary font is there to be legible to read. While designing, you want to limit the use of colors in your design. Too much color can be very chaotic to the human eye. To start up a design, you want to have down the basic color scheme that you would be using. It’s always a good idea to have three tones one light, one middle tone and one dark tone, to create that visual contrast. Contrast in design plays a very important role. It offers the value of difference between the colors on your design. Spacing also leads up to contrast. Spacing text and images in your design makes your overall composition easier on the eyes of the audience. Using a grid while designing helps any designer pin point the accurate spot and placement of each item. “Best appearance” is sometimes known to a designer when they think their spacing is off center; when actually its looks great. The visual appearance in any design has to have a certain motion. Motion is important to create a sense of movement throughout a piece of work. It captures the humans wondering eye, into being interested in what’s in front of them. These types are very helpful to remember when designing. They teach us how we could improve our work with simple rules and adjustments. These seven principles do apply to all areas of design. We as designers are trying to capture the attention of an audience. Our design is what has to stand out and speak for itself to them. Some other links that are useful in design is to keep your composition clean. Designing is a piece of artwork, that artwork should always be clean and readable to any public eye.

    1. Contrasts can evoke strong emotions and images in creative writing. Re-read Yusef Komunyakaa’s poem “Facing It” (page 42). Make note of the ways Komunyakaa contrasts ideas and images: white and black, night and morning, stone and flesh, solid and air, movement and stasis, reality and reflection, past and present. These contrasts create a sense of confusion and tension. Write two paragraphs of your own in which you describe a brief fictional scene that is full of contrasts. Make the contrasts meaningful to the character in your scene.…

William Zinsser said in his book, “On Writing Well”, that there is no great audience to write for; instead authors should write for themselves, for expressing their own emotions, passions, and desires. While this is true to some degree, writers should still keep an audience in mind when writing, especially if that writing is meant to be read by the public. Master the precise skill of writing, then use that skill to express one’s personality to the world through the words on the paper. Some authors believe that working with the usual tone, and developing a style that offers glimpses into the author’s soul, is the best way to write. Other authors believe that keeping writing formal while still engaging the attention of the reader is the best way to spread their work to the world. Both of these views are right, but are styled for different audiences. Integrating carefully structured paragraphs, correct grammar, tactical…

“People only see what they are prepared to see” is a famous quote by Ralph Waldo. This quote emphasises the fact that the purpose of a text can often be unnoticed and misinterpreted by the viewer. Many people only have a limited world experience, and it’s the Distinctly Visual feature of a text which allows the viewer to gain a better understanding. Distinctly Visual texts use a combination of techniques to create and shape an audience’s point of view or interpretation, and visualising a text requires the responder to interpret all of the images presented.…

The purpose of every website design is to motivate a response from your visitor. Color in Web page design is a crucial element in creating a sense of order and balance. Color can make the difference between a website design that is dull and lifeless to a website that is stimulating and positive. Overuse and misuse of color can also create a Web page design that is over stimulating and chaotic, which leads to confusion. Color, as an essential piece of website design, shouldn 't be overlooked as the emotional response to color can dramatically impact your online sales. (www.networksolutions.com – 2013)…

Evolutionary psychology is an approach in the social and natural sciences that studies the psychological behaviours and adaptations of humans to the changing physical and social environment. It’s basically a combination of evolutionary biology and cognitive psychology. In 1859, Charles Darwin set out his theory of evolution by natural selection as an explanation for adaptation and speciation. He believed that all plants and animals had evolved from a few common ancestors by means of natural selection. The theory is based on the assumption that living organisms face environmental challenges. This means that those who adapt best to the environment will have a greater chance of surviving, having children, and passing on their genes to the next…
