The issue of sexual assault has been more commonly to happen in many college campuses. Here at CRC there have been multiple incidents of woman sexually assaulted meanwhile heading to class, either in the middle of the day or late night. This causes the student to lose trust in feeling safe at school, and willing to interact with other students outside of class. There are many possible solutions to help prevent and maybe completely stop sexual assault. Sexual assault can be improved by offering rides to your car by the CRC security, more security in parking lots, and more awareness about sexual prevention classes. Sexual assault can be viewed as an unwanted sexual action, such as grabbing, kissing, and attack. Many victims can be forced into conducting sexual acts through verbal acts such as threatening their life, or non-verbal acts using liquor or drugs. That demonstrates that there is minimal effort in promoting awareness around campus. All students receive emails about sexual assaults, but we all don’t receive emails about how to prevent it, nor who to talk about it. There needs to be more awareness about the dangers of sexual assaults and how to prevent it from happening again. There are a very few signs around campus about key points to do after a sexual assault, but not about how to prevent it. CRC needs a counselor or advisor with great knowledge about sexual assault prevention, to visit a few classes a day and spread awareness to the students about how to prevent these dangers from happening again.
