This poem’s speaker has characteristics of a clingy, sad, yet at the same time he’s a delusional person. The Speaker seems to be stuck in the same crisis as the speaker of “She walks in Beauty”. In “Anabelle Lee” the speaker can’t physically be with his love because she had died many years ago. The speaker in “She Walks in Beauty” has the possibility to be with the girl he admires but is held back by insecuritys.v QQQUUUOOTTEE The speaker in both poems have the same problem at not being with the women they admire.
