Sherlock (to Watson): “The name’s Sherlock Holmes and the address is 221b Baker Street.”
Now, I've never touched a Sherlock Holmes book during my life time, but I have still somehow gained so much information of the characters in the book and the story lines and everybody knows for sure that Sherlock Holmes is the world's favorite detective.
When you think of Sherlock Holmes, you most likely think of him as a character comfortably settled in Victorian London and if you would create a show resembling that version of Sherlock, it would feel old and give of maybe somewhat negative vibe. But the truth is that Sherlock Holmes was always a modern man. It’s the world that got old. BBC did manage to modernize, renew, and match it with this century's audience, and they were very successful with it even though it was a very dodgy thing to do but It’s the start of new adventures for a 21st Century Sherlock Holmes.
I didn't know what to expect from the BBC series Sherlock. But after I watched the first episode, “A study in pink” I became slightly addicted to the show, and I was taken by surprise since I really don't like dramas and so on but this was definitely the start of something unforgettable.
Watching a 90 minutes long episode of Sherlock Holmes may sound as a very boring thing to a lot of people but this version of Sherlock is watch-worthy and anybody could actually enjoy the show. The first episode of BBC series sherlock, is very enchanting in a way that it makes you feel impressed with the Sherlock character, no matter if you have or haven't watched/read some sort of Sherlock Holmes series. The actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, plays the role as Sherlock very well and it's very hard to picture someone else as sherlock after you've seen him in the role, on the TV-screen.
I was expecting Sherlock to be a decent show but it’s so much better than that. It’s outstandingly written, great cast, and easily the best TV-series I've ever watched. I’ve not
