I think that some advantages of synchronous learning in online classes are that all students get to meet up and talk to the professor and discuss class at the same time. They are from different time zones but they learn the same information due to they are taking the same class. However the down fall I see to this is the time of day the students will be getting on to talk to their professor depends on their time zone. Some of the students may have to get off work or schedule around other things to do their class work. Another disadvantage to this is some students like to take morning classes while others like to take evening ones.
I think more and more people are choosing going back to school online due to the fact they can fit school into their already busy schedules. Some advantages to asynchronous learning is there is no certain time for students to check in. however they do have a certain number of days to log into class. For example you have to log in at least twice a week at Ashford. Whereas assignments on a campus would have to have your work done by Friday, you have until Monday to get your work done online. 2. Online education has evolved over the last ten years as much as the cell phone. Given this, what have been some of the major improvements and changes in the digital classroom?
I would have to say that the biggest change in online education is it is considered just as creditable as if you were sitting on campus. Another change I see is the fact you can download your books to your computer instead of buying a paper back or hard back version. Another improvement is that you have an ask teacher forum where you can ask for help. Most professors also are happy to help the student find the answer they were looking for.
