TEXTING WHILE DRIVING
As an everyday routine Abby wakes up like any other day. She turns off the alarm clock, then drags herself out of bed wishing it was already Saturday. She Jumps in the shower and rushes out because her clock was thirty minutes behind and they had called asking if Abby was coming in for work. As she says yes she on her way to the salon she has this really bad feeling in her stomach. Even though she doesn’t know what’s in plan for her today and tragedy that’s going to happen to her. Abby jumps in her car, hair still drenching wet and coffee in her hand as her phone starts to ring and vibrate constantly for all the appointments that she had scheduled with her clients yesterday. As she shouts “OK, I am on my way”, she takes off in a hurry turning at a stop sign, but forgets to make a complete stop and she tries to cut in front of this man and realizes she almost lost her life right there. Keep focus Abby as she whispers to herself, just go to work and then start the day. As Abby is driving down Main Street making a left turn on to the interstate a white jeep makes a stop in the middle of the interstate and the same lane as Abby’s. Abby tried to hurry up and make a complete stop before smashing in to the rear of the jeep, she finally stops and her phone flies toward the bottom of the floor. Struggling to grab it before she exits off the interstate and drive without crashing, she thinks she would make it on time before she gets to the yield sign; she grabs it with her fingertips. …show more content…
Finally, she pops up and just passes the sign and thinks no one is coming and as she turns, an eighteen wheeler comes and smashes right into her and makes her car flip about five times and eject her from the window. By the time the paramedics come to give her C.P.R. it’s already too late to bring her back to life. Once the parents were notified and asked what happened the officer says “we don’t know for sure miss all we know is what the guy told us in the eighteen wheeler”. Finally, a car behind Abby saw what happed and came forward and told once it was Abby’s turn to turn she had seen Abby reaching for something and then saw her trying to hurry up. As Abby stood up she automatically started texting a client saying only five minutes away, then that’s when the car behind Abby seen her get hit by an eighteen wheeler. Sadly, when the officer told the parents what caused her death his exact word were, “her cause of death was that she was texting while driving”. So “live life to the fullest because it only happens once” you never know when you can pass away. Parents should also listen to their kids whenever the kid is telling them to get off of their phone because they are probably concern for their life too. Do parents if your child is driving without a license don’t let them take your car and drive around. So the writer of this is trying to say not only to teenagers but to grown-ups don’t you want to live another day well take care of how you drive or else you’re not going to live another day. Why people get so easily distractive from driving whenever they hear their phones vibrate or even ring. People who are so easily distractive are called distractive drivers which they always have to be looking at themselves in the mirror or continually texting someone and calling people while driving. Texting while driving can cause about 4,000 deaths and nearly 450,000 injures every day. Some people might think that when driving is not a hard task but it is when driving you have to have complete focus when you’re on the roads and focus also on other drivers so there is no reason for you to glance at the phone or say that you can multitask because no one can do that while driving. Mom’s cousin was on his way from El Paso to come to the lake where we were.
