In his first classroom experience his mother was given the choice of enrolling him in a predominantly Black, Puerto Rican, or Chinese class. The sayings ‘crack is wack’ and ‘crack babies’ has came for this period of 8 years. During the Reagan presidency life for colored people were terrible. If you were caught with crack cocaine you got a way longer sentence than anyone caught with powdered cocaine. I think whites were the majority of the race throughout the U.S. history. This included Hispanics and non Hispanics. I think the common ancestral background is European or British decent. European and British people traveled here to learn new things. It was common for people from the Middle East to travel to the U.S. What was very common was these people were also sent back to their original country.…
Arguments about race being the underlining factor to why Brown was killed and Wilson wasn’t convicted cannot be proven and undermines us being in control of our own actions. From the specific circumstances, it doesn’t make logical sense to say that he was killed just because he was black. Why is it that people focus on his race rather that his terrible actions as a human being, which led to his death? This is because we as a country have allowed people to play the race victimization card in order to pass the buck on solving the real problem. Let's pretend that race was the actual problem in America and they are victims of a corrupt system. How do “victims” who account for 12.6 percent of the population commit 52.5 percent of homicides in…
It was Saturday, July 13, 2013, I was looking over my notes for the sermon I would preach the next day when the verdict came in on George Zimmerman. It was very rare that I deviate from a particular subject unless I am spiritually led. But all that changed after having learned that George Zimmerman was found not guilty of the slaying of Trayvon Martin. It was difficult for me to stand that morning as Reverend or Pastor. In my role as Pastor, there was an expectation. Unfortunately, I came with a mixed bag of emotions. I was hurt, along with Travon Martin’s mother and father; to receive the double blow of not only losing their son now the reality that there may be no justice for his death. I was hurt because Trayvon Martin reminded me…
According to the Bible, God created man and women; men to be the husband to a women and women to be a wife to the man. According to Genesis 2:24-25, the Bible refers to Adam and Eve as the first husband and wife. The Bible states, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." Also in the bible under Ephesians 5:28,33 it states "So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself."…
