There is no such thing as a good kill.
We all think and had thought that over the years killing has always been the solution to our fear of the unknown, according to the author of Ambush he said “I did not hate the young man; I did not see him as the enemy” he didn’t see the young man who was coming out of the fog as an enemy and did not hate him but went ahead to kill him with a grenade. If somebody is not an enemy then he should be a friend, if it was not a matter of life and death why kill him? We are forced by the laws we obey to disobey our own will.

This is strictly followed with respect for age first in any of these relationships. One must never lose face with any of these ties for to lose face is to lose honor. The concept of face translates as honor, good reputation, and respect. There are four types of face. Face behavior is power-oriented behavior with the purpose of maintaining stability or control of one’s self. Diumianzi originates from the word mian and directly relates to one’s reputation or place in society. It is actions or deeds, which others have observed, and it is earned. Geimianzi is response to or giving of face to another through showing respect to the other person. Liumianzi is developed by avoiding mistakes and showing wisdom in making decisions. Jiangmianzi, when face is increased through others by another complementing one to a business partner or associate.…

O’Brien decides to stay in fear of what his family and community may think of cowardice, not for nationalism. After all, American society has placed so much emphasis on patriotism than being righteous. This fear of shame motivates the reluctant O’Brien and others to participate in the war. This experience is emblematic of the moral dilemma between the misguided expectations of the group and an individual’s personal beliefs. It may seem trivial for soldiers to concern themselves about social acceptance, but it is a means to clear their heads in a chaotic time. Consequentially, they are more than willing to do irrational, absurd, and/or dangerous things to achieve that clarity. For example: Curt Lemon, another soldier, removed a perfectly healthy tooth to mitigate the perpetual shame he felt from fainting in a previous encounter with the dentist (O’Brien, 55).
