Short Story: District 12 In Panem
It was a great afternoon in District 12 in Panem. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the sounds of pickaxes hitting the coal & rocks. The men have been hard at work, even though that they were still scared of the mine explosions, even though that happened nearly 20 years ago. Brady was on the borderlines of District 12 and he was looking for some food to hunt. He was a little scared of getting caught and being punished, though. "Where are you little fella?" Brady asked, peeking around the trees to find the animal that he was hunting. "Come out, come out where ever you are," he said. Then, the animal came out and Brady pulled out his bow & arrow and pulled back and letted go of the arrow and it flew right into the animals heart, …show more content…
He looked to his left to see a hole in the side of the fence, then, he dragged the deer until it was on the other side of the fence, where he was located.

He lifted the deer and then he started to walk back to his house as the others was just finishing up at their work for the day. During his journey, he was approaching Peeta's bread shop. "Hey, Brady!" he called out. "Hey, Peeta!" Brady exclaimed. He came up to him and said, "A fresh batch of your finest bread, please," "Certainly," he replied back. He went inside his bread shop and went over to the kitchen and grabbed a fresh batch of bread that just came out of the oven, smelling nice and tasty. He came back to him and handed it to Brady. Brady pulled out a couple of coins out of his pocket and handed it to Peeta. "Thanks, man," Brady said. "Have a good one!"

"You too!" Peeta exclaimed. "Don't forget the reaping is tomorrow!" The reaping. The annual reaping was tomorrow morning for District 12. Another Hunger Games is just around the corner and shockingly, Brady is 12 years old. He is now eligible to be picked to go into the Games. He was scared because it is a gruesome place that kids are forced to murder each other, survive, and other things just for the capitols

With the barrel of her musket propped firmly on the limb of a tree, Charity took steady aim at the deer. The medium-sized buck was grazing at the edge of a thicket of wax myrtles, near where she saw the deer tracks the day before. John and Uriah were squatting in the bushes behind her. She had brought them along to help with the bleeding out of the deer, should she kill one, and to help carry it back to camp. They could then dress it out and help her prepare the meat for making jerky and so forth. She also hoped to can some of the meat so that it would last a lot longer. She was glad that Nancy had shown her how and taught her how to preserve food in glass jars- it was much better than having to dry it all into tough leather strips… Taking careful aim, Charity squeezed the trigger, while saying a quick prayer that the bullet would hit its mark. She was worried that she wasn't close enough to the deer, but if she had tried to get any closer, it would have seen her and ran off into the woods.…

During "The Reaping", the "Tribute" selection comes to pass and is where Katniss ultimately volunteers to fight after her sister 's name is drawn from the fish bowl. Her male counterpart is the baker 's son, Peeta Melark. Per the rules, only one or neither of these two combatants will ever return to District 12 alive. "The Hunger Games" are treated as just that, games, they are televised in the Capitol and all 12 Districts as people look on, the members of the Capitol cheering along the way and members of each District looking on in sadness as their children are murdered for the satisfaction of the oppressive government. Rodger and Petey came stumbling through the door pushing me aside and quickly slamming the door shut. “Help us!” screamed Petey. “With what?” I replied. Petey seemed winded for some reason, he was trying to get every ounce of oxygen that he possibly could. When he finally mustered up enough air to speak, the floor began to shake, the ceiling fan started rocking back and forth, the fire in the fireplace was stopped in its place, and the T.V dove into the ground. Rodger began to sweat and scurried under the dinner table. Still unaware of what was happening I yelled, “What is going on?” The house repeated its former action and shook again, this time the pots and pans crashed into the floorboards. Getting nothing from the other pigs I rushed to the window to see what was happening. As I peered out of the window I saw the villainous wolf.…
