Even after Jackie tells the priest of his horrofying thoughts, the priest doesn't reject him. Jackie isn't rejected at all even after he messes up his confession by kneeling on a shelf instead of the floor. The priest simpily laughs and tells him he has thought the same sometimes and knows why he's out for his sister, after waching her hit him. While this might not be the very theme of the story, it is a good lesson.
