Geraldine sat in a armchair on the porch and overheard the whole argument from the open window. She was pleased to hear Philip`s confrontation and saw how they made lively gestures behind the curtain. Then Benjamin walked out on the porch with his usual pessimistic look on his aging face.

He`d attached the shivers of the suspects insufficient memory in chronological order before bracing himself to the truth. Now he was one his way to Devonshire, the crime scene. He had invited all the suspects and the truth would be revealed. When he drove through Devonshire the landscape became greener and softer and proceeded to a traditional lawn that spread out hundreds of metres before being sharply disrupted by a brick wall. Mark rolled through the open gate and viewed the big manor. The manor was in Elizabethan architecture style with white splines, and with windows that were yellow coloured of salt and wind. The dark red brick facade had been honed by the sea. Now they were all assembled in the manor, everyone except Geraldine. Alastair, Benjamin, and Julie had a flowing conversation, talking about the recent past eighteen years of their lives. The laughter and lively vivid chitchat was disrupted by the noise of a car parking outside the manor. From the entrance Geraldine came walking and everyone became silent. She walked into the living room, threw her fur coat and leather gloves on the sofa and took a seat.
