Hi Rosemary! Thank you for your kind and powerful words of support and for sharing your story. I am sorry for your loss. Your story is full of courage and perseverance. Something not found often in the world of conformists. I am sorry to hear that in your own parish you felt like an outsider. You hung in there for 8 years, almost like you were in the desert and now have come back to start your ministry. Your story shows the difficulty with change for most people. I too have heard many a times “we don’t do that here” or “it’s not Catholic enough, it’s too “mainstream”. I work with a team to get the word out via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest). Most are accepting, but there is a core group that is dead set against
social media as it opens us up to “attacks” and “uncontrollable” circumstances. Well that is what Jesus did. He did not ask everyone to come to him on his terms- he put himself out there and reached out to people where they were at. Those who are oppositional without valid reasoning are operating from a place of fear and not Joy. I am happy to see that you’re full of joy and making a difference and it’s all in God’s timing as you said. I believe at times we become to hyper focused on what is immediately happening in our lives and in or circles, that we forget to reach out to others to share, list and learn. Taking these courses online has opened up a beautiful Christian community where we can share our experience and relate to each other. Your supportive words ring deeply in my heart as you speak of the life-giving waters and how when we drink we allow the presence of God within us to be seen and shared with others. Thank you!
