Well have you ever thought of traveling to a different country? Most countries speak different languages. So just get a translation book. No, if you travel to México it will help you more if you know how to speak Spanish. Communication is a big part of traveling, you've got to understand what people are saying and a guide isn't going to help. Also in Spanish if you translate a sentence word by word your not going to get a strait phrase because things in other languages are switched around. You will also understand the culture behind the place that you visit. The people at the place were your visiting might think highly of you because you can understand them. Taking a Foreign language is a waste of time. Instead of doing something that you like you have to take a Foreign language. It isn't fair, and it's probably not going to help you at all.
