Some people think that kids should have to play competitive sports because it's healthy for the kids to get out and get active but some others would argue that they shouldn't have to because there are so much injuries that happen and it may be healthy but actually if they get yelled at or if they didn't make the team in tryouts. Also there are kids that think there not that good so they choose to take a drug like steroids and that is just very unhealthy for them.
Injuries happen all the time, especially in sports. Every 5 out of 14 kids get hurt that play competitive sports says Serena Gordon from ABC news. Also the highest prices for helmets are the helmets that have the most protection which means that if you want to be protected you need

“Children Need to Play, Not Compete” by Jessica Statsky is an explanation as to why children sports need to be less competitive. The stress of winning seems to be getting worse and worse as time goes on. Children are losing the love for sports because the fun is slowly but surely being taken away. Statsky states that, “even when children are not injured, fear of being hurt detracts from their enjoyment of the sport.” There are also psychological issues, which shouldn’t be a problem children have to deal with. Sports should be somewhat of an outlet, an escape for children to enjoy themselves apart from their everyday life, not an added stress. As Statsky ads, “Winning and losing may be an inevitable part of adult life, but they should not be a part of childhood.” Childhood is a time for making memories, participating in things that make children happy, and enjoying their time. Instead of stressing about winning, practicing, losing, making the team, and getting hurt, children should purely be having fun playing the sports that they love.…

One may be worried that a child may be left out by the coach or the other teammates ("Pros and Cons of Youth Sports Participation). According to Philips, children make more friends and build stronger relationships with teammates and the coaches rather than being left out (Philips 26). Injuries also play a big part in why so many people do not play sports at a young age. Actually, having this physical activity helps strengthen bones and muscles, which help make injuries happen less. People also believe that children will have too much organization because of having to listen to the coach all of the time instead of making one's own decisions and mistakes. Organization is good for younger kids because if there is no organization at all everyone will be out of control and not knowing what to do ("Pros and Cons of Youth Sports Participation"). Even though there are many things that could happen to children playing sports, there are always ways that one can do to prevent…

How many kids have gotten cut from a something they love? A sports team? A competitive band? A school play? Haven’t gotten into a college or high school? The number is rapidly increasing. Everyone has at least once in their lives including many famous sports players that others would not expect. At least 50% of all athletes have gotten cut at least once in their lives, but they did not give up. Getting cut can be somewhat depressing for some people, but on the other hand it can help them grow physically and mentally as an adult. Although for some kids, sports are the only type of exercise they get, and once they get cut aren’t willing to play anymore due to embarrassment. It also can hurt a child’s self esteem. The main goal for most athletes is to get to the highest level of their sport and to get there you need to start practicing you skills early and have dedication. Some athletes use performance-enhancing drugs like steroids to help them get to that level. It’s becoming a problem to the point that people in high school are starting to use drugs; since there is no drug testing for high school athletics, they get away with using these drugs without fear of the consequences. The students that do take advantage of not dealing with drug testing are going to have an edge over their peers who are more concerned with their future health and are trying to make it with hard work and dedication. “School should be about learning, not sports”. Kids now a days love to play sports, but don’t like to learn. Learning, and get an education this is a very important thing in life you need it to have a good job so that you can have a family and support them. So I feel in school you must have good grades in order to play any type of sport, and if you do not then you should not be playing. A couple reasons I feel like this is for starters kids pay more attention to sports then they do in class. This is not how this should be. Kids should love to learn something new every day at school, but in some school that’s not the case. Kids need to learn.…

Shit as long as young kids are playing football and baseball in the parks and having a good time then I still see the game as pure as it has ever been. If these little twerps did not put such high expectations on athletes with their preseason all everything teams then maybe athletes wouldn't feel it so necessary to do such a thing to their body. But from my experiences as a college athlete there is tons of pressure put on you to succeed by fans, coaches, and administrators that some feel necessary to gain as much of an edge as possible. That includes cheating if need be because that is what athletes are doing by taking steroids they are cheating the game and all of those involved with them. Every athlete wants glory every athlete wants to leave something behind every athlete wants his legacy to be remembered they want to be talked about forever. Like Babe Ruth his name will never be forgotten even though his home run record was broken. People will never forget him people will still remember him as the best hitter the game has…

One reason high school sports aren’t beneficial is because they create a lot of pressure. According to the video “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” by KCRA, sports are sometimes the only way students can get into a good college and be able afford it. This puts a lot of pressure on the athletes to perform at their best 100% of the time. Experts say that your child's entire team will suffer if the parents are pressuring their kids (KCRA.com, “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” ). This fact is important because it proves, when parents put pressure on their children it does not benefit them, in fact it is actually setting them up for life in an unhealthy way. This shows that the pressure from sports is not good and not worth it.…
