On a bus, a kid without a seatbelt would get horribly injured in a crash. “Seat Belts prevent driver and passengers from being ejected during a crash”(cdc.gov). If you wear a seatbelt then you will be more likely not to fling off of your seat in the vehicle. “People not wearing a seatbelt are 30 times more likely to eject from a vehicle during a crash”(cdc.gov). Seat belts reduce injury and death by a lot. ”IMMI says it's researching shows that, in general, a lap shoulder seatbelts can reduce injury and death by 50 percent” (abcnews.go.com). The kids are safe by 50 percent more. Again even though they are uncomfortable they keep children safe. “A 6-year-old-sized crash test dummy - who was also not wearing a seatbelt – was initially facing the rear of the bus and wearing a backpack. After the crash, the dummy struck the seatback behind him, rebounded and hit the seatback in front of him, before falling out of his seat and into the aisle”(abcnews.go.com). People tested what would happen if a bus crashed with dummies in them. In real life, they most likely would be facing the back of the bus since they don’t have a seat
