Should Minimum Age Drivers Be Raised To 18

Drivers between the ages of 18 and 25 are notoriously bad drivers having the highest number of accidents of any age group. However, I suggest that the reason that this age group has such a high rate of accidents is not because of a lack of maturity and because young drivers have “a point to prove”, but rather due to lack of experience on the road and thus I propose that the minimum age at which a person should be allowed to receive their learners licence should be lowered to 16 to allow for young drivers to be given more time to gain experience on the road while being under the watchful eye of a guardian who would be able to share some of their own experience through advice and mentoring.
