Would you like to always wonder what's under someone's shirt and if the have a gun or not?We should be able to have rifles and shotguns but not handguns. It is very hard to commit suicide with a rifle or shotgun. It is very hard to hide a shotgun or carry it unnoticed unlike a handgun. Handguns start more escalations in a fight. Some citizens are not a fan of handguns let alone being able to carry them in public. 75% of people support law abiding citizens being able to carry a handgun in public (according). Police are too far away sometimes so you might have to take things into your own hands (research). The second amendment says “ People have the right to bear arms” ( entire). Carrying handguns creates a sense of security and safety for people (violent). In 2014 a law was passed for if you wanted a concealed carry permit you must have a clean background (Entire).

Studies say that concealed handguns reduce murder by 8.5% and rapes by 5% and assaults 7% (states). In 2013 all 50 states allowed citizens to carry a concealed handgun. CATO made a law to conceal carry a handgun and CATO says that has stopped massacres (after). Some states require training to get a handgun permit (some). Florida looked at the backgrounds of the citizens with a concealed handgun permit and 1400 of have committed a crime (between). Some states require citizens with a concealed handgun to always have their permit on them but in other states it is unrestricted to carry a handgun (carrying). Seven states allow people with a handgun permit to carry them on college campuses while 21 other states banned them from campuses (seven). Forty two states allow the police decide who meets the requirements.
Some states don’t require citizens to have training and the training doesn't have to meet a certain amount of hours (some). Fifty seven percent of voters feel unsafe about having people carrying handguns in public (march). In Illinois fifty percent of people felt unsafe about the handguns in public (march). The National Rifle Association (NRA) gave ex. President Barack Obama and F rating because of how he voted for the gun laws. In 2009 Obama passed a law that let people carry guns in a National Park (national). Hillary Clinton wants to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and unstable people (we). Donald Trump believes that we could need guns in some situations and that it could lead to not as many deaths (amendment). Everyone has there own opinion on how the concealed handgun laws should be.
Lots of people have different opinions like the candidates for the elections or even your neighbor has a different opinion on how things should be done (during). The people that should be allowed to carry a handgun are only the law abiding citizens according to the CCW (During). Some people say that concealed handguns is kind of like the wild west where anyone could carry a gun around (during). Also if you allow handguns in an area it reduces the safety and could lead to a shootout or a death( Prior).The CCW doesn't make laws for workplaces they say that it is up to the owner of the business (Prior). The CCW lets the employers decide if they allow handguns at work because of the safety of the staff and customers (prior).
