I think that a child should be able to be passed onto the next grade level because whenever I see a held back student at the school I often start to wonder how they feel to see that they’ve been put back on the same grade level and the other students have been placed in the next. If I imagine myself in that position I would feel unintelligent and left out. It will begin to change the way a student goes on to school and even causing their self-esteem to drop. This way it will not make them feel different from another because they have failed to succeed but that they just need more help understanding. Failing a child will hurt their development and will not be able to learn the same as they did before.
