Students learn primarily about the jews, but they can bring up their cultures as well. For example, a student that have had family that have lived in war zones, or even family that are jewish that have close ties with the Holocaust. This make the topic all the more engaging. Not only that, but students are more aware of a living conditions around the world.
A counter argument could be that the Holocaust is too complex of a topic for kids to learn about. A child’s brain is too small to comprehend all of the events that have happened in the Holocaust. The Holocaust also has a lot of gruesome deaths. Not to mentions how people die. Also, students might have bad thoughts in their head, or even bad dreams.
All in all, the Holocaust teaches students about moral rights, cultures, and not to hate. Not to mention, it’s a very engaging topic because students can bring up their heritage as well. It’s a topic that doesn’t require a lot of thinking, but can also be a topic that students would want to learn about. However, the topic should be simplified for young kids, as you don’t want to mess up their mind. The Holocaust really is a topic that everyone should know about, young and old, although it could be taught different ways for each age
